Having played Billiards/Pool for almost twenty seven years and still loving everything to do with the sport, I have played in the Metro Pool League for the past 24 years and run the Metro Pool League Dooly's Rockingham C Team for the past six years. I also created/host all of The Gunn Shows, including The "Annual Mille Gunn Memorial Pool Tournament", and direct many fund-raising Events within the Halifax Regional Municipality for many Dooly's Venues. To date, I have run/directed/helped run over 45 Pool Tournaments, and looking forward to many more.

       My first Pool Tournament was on July 23, 2016, and wanted to create a plain old Event that people could have fun and that I could play in as well. With the help of Dale Brimicombe, the event went off without a hitch and had quite a few players come out for it, It was the same with my second one on December 11, 2016, but something needed to change as it was so like all of the other pool tournaments around, and wanted to make it unique.

I dropped into The Billiard Shop to see my friend Mr. Dave Boone, and he "jokingly" asked how the Gunn Show went.... so the Event name was born, lol. My Events have grown so much over the years, with The Gunn Show #15 just finishing up on December 02, 2023, at the home of my "Mixed" Events at Dooly's Rockingham location on 30 Farnham Gate Rd in Halifax, NS. This was a Milestone Event with a new test cap of 40 players, the new cap worked perfect and is now implemented for all "Mixed Tournaments". The events fill within a day now, and the name is well known amongst the Pool Community; these tournaments are considered big-money events (with one hundred dollars added by the Dooly's Venue and myself), and draw very competitive players. But the main goal of all of my tournaments has not changed. I put all of this work into the events for the players and the love of the game, and to help grow the sport and attract new players. Still, now my Events have a more significant goal of raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Dooly's Breakfast Program from each event.

       Dale Brimicombe is still by my side helping run the events, and Brian McNamara, the newest addition to our team, joined us in May of 2022. Brian handles all of the YouTube streaming of my events and is dedicated to fundraising for Cancer Research through his channel. He does an amazing job every time; we are lucky to have him with us. Dale Brimicombe is the President of the Metro Pool League in Nova Scotia and runs one of the teams in the league, he is all about growing the sport and quite the competitor on the tables. You could not ask for a better team to make an Event run like clockwork. I would also like to give a shoutout to Craig T. and Glenn N., who always lend a hand when needed and is such a major help with my Mom's "Annual" Memorial Pool Tournaments. Without the team and the volunteers at that Event, it would be impossible to run and thank you all...together we make a difference.
